The dates are built around the festival: you land in Srinagar on Dhanteras, spend Diwali day in the valleys around Pahalgam and celebrate the evening back at your hotel, then fly home on 11 November. It all fits inside a typical Diwali vacation.

Every package follows the same route with a private driver. What changes is where you sleep and how much is pre-booked: Comfort keeps every night in Srinagar, 3-Star adds a night in Pahalgam and the Gulmarg Gondola, and 4-Star and 5-Star add a night in Gulmarg, an Innova Crysta and the local union cabs in Pahalgam (plus Sonamarg on 5-Star).

All four include breakfast and dinner daily, a Shikara ride, your houseboat night and all taxes, and each price is the total for two adults. Highly recommend Vertex Kashmir Holidays for family trips! We traveled with our 4-year-old and my in-laws on a custom family package. Before we even landed, their team called to ensure we converted our SIMs to postpaid and reminded us to book our Gulmarg Gondola tickets online, which was a lifesaver. Out of deep respect for our dietary preferences, they pre-coordinated with all the hotels to ensure pure vegetarian and garlic-free Jain food was prepared with absolute care and separate utensils. Our private SUV was spacious, and our driver was always on hand to help us negotiate fair rates for pony rides and local sightseeing, as outside cabs aren't allowed past the Pahalgam stands. We felt incredibly safe, respected, and well-cared for. Booking through a true local specialist makes all the difference!

We booked the 6 Nights 7 Days Kashmir Family Tour with Vertex Kashmir Holidays for a family of six, including my elderly parents and two kids. I must say, their planning is extremely practical. Most agencies keep you in Srinagar, but Vertex had us stay overnight directly in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, which completely saved my parents from daily road fatigue. Our private vehicle was incredibly comfortable, and our driver, Fayaz, was extremely patient and respectful. He helped us register my parents' physical Aadhaar cards at the checkpoints, guided us through the process of hiring the local union cabs at Pahalgam, and even negotiated fair pony rates for the kids. The Deluxe / Family-Friendly Hotels were exceptionally clean and warm, and the Premium Houseboat stay on Dal Lake was the perfect ending. Zero hidden costs, pure operational transparency. We are so glad we chose a private honeymoon package over a shared group tour. Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) is on Sunday, 8 November 2026. This package runs from Friday 6 November (Dhanteras) to Wednesday 11 November — 5 nights and 6 days that cover the whole festival, including Bhai Dooj on the 10th.

Will there be snow in Kashmir in early November?

Early November is Kashmir's autumn season, famous for golden chinar trees. Snow is possible on Gulmarg's upper slopes and at higher points around Sonamarg, but it can't be guaranteed this early. Heavier snow usually arrives from late November and December.

What is the weather like in Kashmir in November, and what should I pack?

Days are cool and usually sunny; nights get cold, often close to freezing in Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Pack warm layers, a heavy jacket, a cap, gloves and comfortable walking shoes.
